GIS-Based Rainfall Analysis Using Remotely Sensed Data in Kirkuk Province, Iraq

This research aims to calculate the rate of rainfall for two consecutive years, 2018 and 2019, study analyze drought periods during these years. The was conducted in Kirkuk province north Iraq, by dividing area into five regions based on stations records. Two types data used investigations; remotely sensed daily precipitations from integrated multi-satellite retrievals monthly average NASA power application. methodology involved calculation rats three methods; Mean, Thiessen’s polygons, Isohyetal technique. Data were analyzed, final maps produced using Geographic Information Systems. For year annual technique were; 1.376, 1.341, 1.343 respectively. But, 2019 0.966, 0.932, 0.882 results showed scarcity water lack which has a great impact region's exposure drought, represented drying up rivers.
